Issued from 1967-1976, these are the first Orchid series currency banknotes for Singapore since its independence. On the front design is a Vanda Janet Kaneali orchid , while the back design depicted a block of flats in a housing estate. More information can be found here.

Brunei $20 banknote 2007 COMMEMORATIVE Polymer - Orchid RARE 2

Polymer plastic issue commemorating the 40th anniversary of "Currency Interchangeability Agreement" with Singapore, 1967-2007.


This banknote been issued to mark the 40th anniversary of the Currency Interchangeability Agreement between Brunei Darussalam and Singapore. All the notes (Brunei and Singapore) have a similar design and characteristics, whereby the crest of Brunei is printed in red ink on the see through window, and the shadow image of His Majesty's portrait and initials "HB" will appear when the banknote is held up to light. Other security features include the numeral 20 which is in transparent raised printing on the gold patch, and can be viewed at pre-determined angles but disappears at other angles. Released in limited quantity and is expected to be rare quite soon !!!

This note was issued to mark the 25th anniversary of the coronation of Sultan Bolkiah. It features a portrait of Hassan al Bolkiah and scenes of the royal coronation ceremonies. Hassan al Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah is the 29th Sultan of Brunei, the eldest son of Omar Ali Saifuddien III, the previous Sultan. Under Brunei's 1959 constitution, the Sultan is the head of state with full executive authority, including emergency powers since 1962. Bolkiah is also the Prime Minister of Brunei, as well as holding authority on issues of Defence and Finance.

This polymer banknote that was issued in 2007 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Brunei-Singapore Currency Interchangeability Agreement 1967-2007. It has denomination value of 20 Dollars and is legal tender in this country. There were no more then 4 mln notes released and it is expected that less then few hundred thousand of them are still to be UNC. Still in uncirculated condition as issued by bank.
